A concrete pump mounted on a truck which has a hydraulically driven boom used to place the concrete wherever the concrete is required. This makes pumping concrete easier for the customer especially on large concrete pours, where large amounts of concrete are needed.
This is a mobile concrete pump which can either be on a trailer or truck mounted. This concrete pump uses pipes to pump the concrete along the ground making it possible to deliver concrete to hard to access areas.
The term pump mix is used when ordering concrete, it is a concrete mix design which is used when using a concrete pump. A pump mix generally will have more sand and cement, helping it flow through a concrete pump.
A word for the pipeline or ground line or it can be used for the placing hose.
The boom is the hydraulically driven arm on a boom pump. Some people describe them as looking like a crane. The boom places the concrete.
This is a term for a rubber flexible pipe which is used on either a boom pump or line pump these are often used in the area where the concrete is being laid as they are easy to move making it easier to lay the concrete.
This is a word which describes a water tight box which fits under the hopper of a concrete pump. These are typically made out of wood and then lined with a waterproof sheeting.
A hopper is where the concrete wagon pours the concrete into the back of the concrete pump.
A clip connects your pipes (or bagging) together and are also used to connect the pipe line to the concrete pump.
Priming the concrete pump is an essential part to pumping concrete, without priming a concrete would not be able to flow through the pipes. We typically use a bag of general purpose cement mixed with water. However you can purchase specific concrete primers which also prime the pipes.
A blockage, is when the concrete cannot be pumped as it is blocked in the pipe line, this can happen because of several factors such as not using a pump mix or if concrete has started to separate due to issues with the concrete. Concrete is most likely to block when you first start pumping as the pipes are dry which causes it to block or the aggregate gets away from the rest of the concrete forming a blockage.
A concrete pump is a piece on construction machinery which takes concrete from one location to a separate location - quite often a hard to access location on a construction site. There are different types of concrete pumps such as boom pumps, line pumps, static pumps, trailer pumps and tracked pumps.
